Bordeaux de la Rousselle is an elegant, gracious one-bedroom apartment in the heart of historic Bordeaux. It is located in a quiet street, close to restaurants, shops and transport. It has recently been renovated to a high standard.

Built in 1790, this apartment has high ceilings and ornate period details, such as stained glass windows in the bedroom, and decorative plasterwork in the lounge/dining room. There are French doors onto a balcony that runs the length of the apartment, and looks onto a street straight out of the 18th century.

The floor area is 538 square feet (50 square meters) and the apartment is on the (European) second floor (American third floor). The floors are polished oak, and there two leather Chesterfield sofas in the living room, one of which converts to a sofa bed, and an antique dining table, which folds out to seat four people.

The bedroom faces an atrium at the rear of the apartment and has a King size bed with real linen sheets. There is a modern kitchen with a microwave and a washing machine, and a stylish bathroom with a rain-shower head shower. Appliances include a Nespresso machine.

Bordeaux de la Rousselle apartment is located one street back from the Garonne river and the linear park that runs along it. In the same street and in the nearby squares are huge variety of excellent restaurants, and within a few minutes’ walk are food stores and markets, offering fresh regional produce. Every Sunday the largest antique market in south-west France is held at the end of the street. And a couple of blocks away is Rue St Catherine, the longest pedestrian shopping street in Europe, which has hundreds of boutiques and major stores.

The Porte de Bourgogne tram stop is a two minute walk away, and there is a choice of parking stations close by.

Our location

What our guests say about Bordeaux de la Rousselle

Wonderful view

There is a small balcony with a wonderful view down the ancient street. Public parking was underground, just a 5-minute walk away. The bedroom was super quiet, as it opens on an internal courtyard. Tram stop nearby and lots of restaurant choices. Spotless luxury bathroom and well-equipped kitchen. An English-speaker meet us on arrival and again on departure, which was helpful. This management company (Bordeaux Apartments) was very organized and responsive.

Absolutely gorgeous

My husband and I had a lovely long weekend in Suzanna’s Bordeaux flat. Suzanna was very responsive and friendly over email and text providing all the info we needed before arriving (even alerted us to a marathon in the area so we could plan accordingly). She was also kind enough to be flexible with our check out time as we had a late flight home. Charlotte was also lovely and was prompt to let us into the flat and provided helpful neighbourhood info and restaurant suggestions. The flat itself was absolutely gorgeous and just as it’s pictured in Suzanna’s photos. It had everything we needed and provided a lovely home base to explore Bordeaux from. And its easy walking distance from great restaurants, shopping and sight seeing. Highly recommend - thanks Suzanna & Charlotte!!

Saw in the New Year!

Lovely historic feel apartment, good and warm, but would be cool in the summer with 2 lovely big double doors onto terrace. Not too many stairs up, good lighting in stairwell, best bed and bed linens of any place stayed, good hot water and pressure (shower not as small as looks), comfy sofas, good WiFi, good tv and video, washing machine unexpected! Couple of bottles of wine left for us were really appreciated! Good to have coffee pods, oil, seasoning and few extras left fantastic.
Out of apartment and turn right and hit Victor Hugo. Turn left for river and 10 mins walk on left to Bourse palace and a great row of fabulous restaurants. Turn right on river and 20 mins walk to Train station…Out of apartment turn right and right on Victor Hugo and 10 mins to HUGE supermarket or little ones within 2 mins/and loads of good takeaways...Out of apartment turn left for loads of good drinking bars and historic lanes, shops and wandering. We loved the location. We loved Bordeaux. The place was quiet, we slept well, bar New Years Eve obviously!! Would very much recommend location. Owners helpful, especially ‘re ordering taxi for us on New Years Day and when we thought we had left phone. Thank you for the use of your place!!
