Bordeaux Golden Triangle one-bedroom apartment is bright and airy, with high ceilings and historic details, yet with a contemporary flair. The floor area is 592 square feet (55 square meters). The apartment building was constructed in the 19th century in classic Paris Haussmann style, and has been adapted for modern living with a state-of-the-art kitchen and bathroom.

The furniture is comfortable and well designed, and an eclectic collection of antique and modern objects and artworks are on display. The bedroom sleeps two people in a Queen sized bed on good quality linen. The owner is a keen chef, and has equipped the kitchen with the latest appliances and excellent knives and utensils. Appliances include a dishwasher, Nespresso machine and Moulinex blender. The bathroom has a shower over the bath.

It is on the first floor, (American second floor), and faces onto a quiet street. In warm weather you’ll enjoy opening the three large French windows onto the balcony. The bedroom is at the back of the building, so it’s tranquil and not overlooked. From the bedroom you can see trees and old buildings and a small courtyard below.

This apartment gains its name from the location in the famed historic “Golden Triangle” district of Bordeaux. From here it’s only a short walk to the main sights of the city. In the next street, Rue Gallien, are a multitude of excellent restaurants, (some boasting Michelin star chefs), and specialist food shops.

If you would like to learn French, one of the best language schools, Alliance Francaise, is in the same street as the apartment.

At the top of the road is the large Meriadeck shopping center, with a large supermarket and many major chain stores. Also nearby is the delightful Place St. Seurin, with restaurants and an organic market every Friday morning.

Also nearby is a multiscreen cinema with many films in English and the Grand Theater of Bordeaux, which offers a range of classical music and dance performances in an extraordinary 18th century setting. The riverside quays, with their weekend markets, are 15 minutes’ walk away.

Transport is easily available, with buses from Place Gambetta and the tram from Cours de l’Intendance, just 5 minutes’ walk away.

Parking is available at a choice of parking stations a short walk from the apartment.

What our guests say about Bordeaux Golden Triangle

Highly recommended

We loved staying at Suzanna’s apartment in Bordeaux. The apartment was beautiful and airy, just like the pictures reveal. The apartment was located on a quiet street that was a quick walk to all the restaurants, sites, and shops we wanted to visit. She gave us great recommendations and helped us with a parking pass. We highly recommend it!

Light & warm in every way

One could view a map to see how this apartment is close to the Centre yet at enough distance to be quiet at night. So, I’ll focus on the experience itself. The coordination was seamless. My flight to Bordeaux was delayed which I communicated to Charlotte, as I learned updates. I was put at ease and welcomed at the apartment. The apartment is a modern renovation in an aged building on a classic-looking street in Bordeaux Centre. That means it has modern appeal and amenities while also providing a timeless Bordeaux experience. I live in NYC and white noise and ambient noise at night is unavoidable. This made the room darkeners outside the window and the respectful silence in both the building and neighbourhood friends to the weary traveler. The bedroom is a cocoon for sleep. This gave me immediate rest and energy to enjoy Bordeaux, the Garonne walkway, the Pomerol, and wonderful people. Thank you, all.

Magnificent and quiet location

Charlotte, the facility manager, was at the apartment on time and gave us a quick tour through the apartment and explained us the surroundings on a map. The apartment itself was magnificent and as appealing as in the pictures. It was well cleaned, the kitchen offered everything we needed for our cooking, the bed was comfortable and we absolutely loved the decoration and colours inside the rooms. The apartment is located in a small road in a residential area. There’s not much traffic going on except for the occasional car or motorbike passing through. The bedroom is on the side facing away from the road so it was not noisy during the nights even if we left the windows open.
A big shopping centre with an Auchan hypermarket, several smaller shops and a bakery are within a 10 minute walking distance around the apartment, so it was easy for us to get fresh croissants or chocolatines in the morning or to do our big shopping in the afternoon and carry it all home even without a car. For most of the time we left our car parked in a garage at Place Tourney, about 10-15 minutes walk away.
Overall, we couldn’t have wished for a better place for our 2-week stay, we could have easily stayed for longer without getting bored or feeling homesick, so that says a lot. I can absolutely recommend Suzanna, Charlotte and the apartment and would love to return any time again!
